BERLIN (Reuters) โ The German government plans to release an additional 3 billion euros ($3.3 billion) in military aid for Ukraine and Finance Minister Joerg Kukies has informed parliamentโs budgetary committee of the move, according to a draft document from his ministry seen by Reuters.
The move is seen as a breakthrough after outgoing Chancellor Olaf Scholz had previously obstructed the additional aid, insisting on the easing of borrowing rules as a prerequisite.
Parliament voted on Tuesday for a seismic reform of fiscal rules.
